Import Users

You can create user accounts in a batch basis by importing a users list.

To create the users list:

Method 1. Use a Text Editor:

1. Open a new file with a text editor.
2. Enter a user’s information in the following order and separate them by TAB:
   • Username
   • Password
   • Description
   • Email
   • Quota (MB) in volume 1 (repeat this step if you have more than one volume)

     Note:

     User’s quota is not supported in Btrfs file system and external storage devices (e.g. USB/eSATA drives).

3. Go to the next line and repeat step 2 until you have input all the users. Each line indicates one user’s information.
4. Save the file in UTF-8 encoding.

Method 2. Use Microsoft Excel:

1. Open a new file with Excel.
2. Enter users’ information in the following order and separate them by column in a single row:
   • Username
   • Password
   • Description
   • Email
   • Quota (MB) in volume 1 (repeat this step if you have more than one volume)

     Note:

     User’s quota is not supported in Btrfs file system and external storage devices (e.g. USB/eSATA drives).

3. Go to the next row and repeat step 2 until you have input all the users. Each row indicates one user’s information.
4. Open a new file with text editor. Copy the entries from the spreadsheet and paste them to the text file.
5. Save the file in UTF-8 encoding.

To import the users list:

1. Choose Create > Import Users.
2. Tick Overwrite duplicate accounts if you wish to replace the duplicate accounts with the one exists in the users list.
3. Click Browse and select the file of the users list. After the file is selected, the preview region will show the list of imported users. Users with abnormal status will not be imported.
4. Click Upload to create the user accounts.
